Goal Planning Monday ~6~

Week 6... and it's March now! How did your week go? Mine was not so productive as past weeks have been. I could blame it on my sons... school was long and laborious this week. One day we were still at the table, homeschooling, at 8pm!! You can't get a lot accomplished around the house with days like that. And, yes, my boys are older, in 8th and 11th; but it seems I have been lax and they have taken advantage and now we have work to do to get things back to the way they should be. The boys were skipping workboxes and not  finishing everything. I have no excuse. It is my fault. You cannot expect what you don't inspect. I did not inspect and make sure they followed through on every assignment so they didn't do them. So I am not blaming it on my sons. It is my fault. I let them go for to long getting away with not finishing things. Hopefully this week will be better. This may help.

Hubby got a new laptop, his was getting old and slow. He gave his old one to our dd. A few days later she dropped it on the floor. Something in the monitor disconnected or broke and so you could not see what was happening on the computer unless you shine a flashlight on it. Hubby kept it around... which is a good thing. We are now using it. He disconnected the monitor from the keyboard and cd part and hooked it up to a separate monitor. The boys are now using this for school. It has none of their games on it so hopefully they will not be distracted. They will not have access to their computers until they finish and are given their green card which allows them to get on their computer, watch tv, or do other activity and lets my husband and daughters know they have been cleared by mom and are done all their schoolwork for the day. Also, letting the boys know that we only have 9 weeks of school left will hopefully push them to finish well.

Now... this was supposed to be about my goals... but... it took a turn so I could tell you why I did not accomplish as much this week.

So I exercised last week, Monday to Friday on the Wii and Saturday a walk at Winterthur. I read a bunch from both my books but I did not finish. I did not work on my e-books, I did not finish reading my book though I made a lot of progress. I did not clean up my closet. I had a rough week. I could make more excuses but I won't. Some weeks go well some don't. Hopefully I will have a good week and accomplish more.

My goals for this week are:

  1. Work on e-books.
  2. Exercise at least 4 days and Work out at least 4 days and I want at least 3 of them to be 45 minute workouts.
  3. Work on reading Age of Opportunity: A Biblical Guide to Parenting Teens by Paul David Tripp and Somewhere a Song  by Judith Pella. The first book is for knowledge and help in my parenting the other is my next "personal reading for fun" fiction book. I don't know if I will finish either but I want to make time to read them both. Hopefully I can finish them soon.
  4. Clean up and Organize my bedroom, especially my closet and in front of my closet... I can barely get to my closet... and that means my hubby can't get to it either.
  5. Work on Nathan's high school credits.
Well, those are my goals for the week. What are you goals???

I hope this week is better for you. I also sometimes do not check Rachel's work, but she knows that eventually i will and if it's not complete when i do get around to checking, she will be in big trouble....so, she gets it done even when i don't check every day :-) Still, it does go smoother when i stay on top of it.
We need to get together soon, i miss you. Let me know what is a good day?

Hi Debbie!

What a clever idea for saving the laptop! I'm afraid I would have gotten frustrated with it and chunked it in the recycle bin! I hope you have a better, easier time of it this week!!
