Reading Challenge ~ How I did in June

Reading Challenge 2012

My goal for reading this year was to read 52 books or more in 2012. That is one book a week. I am proud that I am doing so well. I am currently reading 9 books. One for a review I am doing in July, one left over from school, some for personal reading, some for devotions. Some will be finished in a few days, some will be finished in a few weeks, some will not be finished until the end of the year. I really wanted to finish reading With Wolfe in Canada by G.A. Henty in June. I had plans to read a History book for my own knowledge this summer but I don't know if I will get it done before school starts because I have a book I am reviewing that I have to read first.
 I love reading!
You can explore so much of our past and present and gain so much knowledge and encouragement! Also, reading is and can be Fun!

Read A Book Today!

Each month for the Reading Challenge we are supposed to do an update and link up. This month I read....

Saving Hope
Saving Hope Margaret Daley  335 pp didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it (my current rating) it was amazing
I got this book free for Kindle at Amazon. It was a very good book. I would classify it as a Christian mystery/thriller type of book. There was human trafficking, kidnapping and there is also a little romance thrown in.

The Power of a Praying Wife
The Power of a Praying Wife Stormie Omartian  203 pp didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it (my current rating) it was amazing
I have read this book before. I was happy to read it again and pray the prayers for my husband. I prayed the prayers again in June, 30 chapters in 30 days, for his Father's Day gift, because I don't have money for a gift. The chapters and prayers give me insight into my husband and help me to pray for him with more empathy and with wisdom.

Promises to Keep (Tales from Grace Chapel Inn, #13)
I love, love, love the Tales from Grace Chapel Inn. In this book of the series one of the sisters and her friend help the high school poetry club publish a poetry magazine. They also help a family deal with some hard news about the health of one of their children. I love that these are such good moral stories with a real spiritual emphasis.

Hidden in Dreams: A Novel
Hidden in Dreams: A Novel Davis Bunn  256 pp didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it it was amazing (my current rating)
I will not be telling you too much about this book as I will be doing a review on it soon. I will say that I LOVED it. I was hooked part way through chapter 2. This book has it all. Stay tuned for a full review.

That is 4 books in June!! That made 34/52 books for the year. I am 8 books ahead of schedule!

Woohoo! You are doing so great at keeping to your goals. :D Thanks for your faithful participation! My hope is to get a little more reading done in July than in June.

But...I just got a very exciting surprise: my sister (who lives literally on the other side of the world from me)is home in the states. It is the best birthday present ever, and I'm obviously a little distracted catching up on the three years we've been so far apart. :)
