FOR TODAY Monday January 12th ...
Outside my window... a few pink and purple tinted clouds but otherwise clear skies, the sun just coming over the horizon... big and yellow and looking warm but winter's bite has it a cool 26 degrees F.
I am thinking... I need to figure out what to do to keep on our new schedule. Dh left for work and I fell back asleep... I am thankful for the extra hour I had but we were supposed to get up at 7:00 and when I woke it was 7:20... oh well... on with our day
I am thankful for... clear skies and seeing the sun... it has been a while, and a FULL freezer. We went at Shady Maple Farm Market in PA on Sat. and dd says, "We can not get another stick of butter in there, well actually Mom, I could." It is a joke in our house that Rachel can rearrange any fridge or freezer to fit more food in than any person I know.
From the learning rooms... continuing with Vikings: Reading The Vikings by Elizabeth Janeway (a Landmark book) and The Story of Rolf and the Viking Bow by Allen French a Bethlehem books book. We started reading both last week. Still doing Botticelli for our Artist and Bach for our Composer Studies. Finishing up Senses this week and next is Digestive System. Continuing week two of our exercise program (more on that later in the week).
From the kitchen... this week I will be trying to cut back on fats and eating better. I have some Weight Watchers meals planned for the dinners I am cooking Monday night (and next Sunday Dinner) and I have some lunches planned from WW also, soup one day and a lighter version of BLT's one day with Canadian Bacon.
I am wearing... my bathrobe... I need to get dressed.
I am creating...nothing, but I have a couple of projects that need to get done. I need to make a cross ornament for myself because the one I finished for myself I sent to a friend. I also want to get back to scrapbooking at least one afternoon a week. I would like to start that this week.
I am going... no where!!!
I am reading... For myself: Two From Galilee and The Stones Cry Out by Sibella Giorello. Stuff to boys (see from the learning rooms above) and Little House in the Big Woods to the boys at night before bed (made some progress this week hope to keep it up and even do a little better this coming week). To the family: Spring with the Moody's by Sarah Maxwell.
I am hoping... that before December 2009 my husband can find another job... one so we can have health benefits... right now the kids are covered but not dh and I. That worries me daily... he has multiple health issues!
I am hearing... trucks and cars on the way to somewhere... my kids getting up and getting going.
Around the house... kids taking showers, dd making Cream of Wheat for breakfast because we are have only a small amount of milk 'til dad comes home from work later. Hopefully, other children already up are doing morning devotions.
One of my favorite things... full freezers and full storage shelves of food. Thank you God for supplying our needs.
A few plans for the rest of the week: continuing with our exercise - I exercised 1 hour a day for 5 days last week, scrapbooking, school of course, an afternoon with Jessica (it is her turn for lunch with Mom and do whatever she wants from after lunch 'til dinner), and continue to work on persuing my goals (see post on 2009 goals by scrolling down or clicking here.
Here are the picture thoughts I am sharing...
