Goal Planning Monday ~ Week 103

Time to write some goals and strive to accomplish them this coming week??

Join us by clicking on the button above...
after you read my goals.

I found myself wasting to much time last week. I would turn on my computer to do my devotions and get distracted and hours later not have done much of anything except scroll around the Internet (especially Facebook) and still not be done my devotions. I am back to being focused... remembering this one thing I do... when I do devotions I do all of it and focus on it... when I am on Facebook do what I want on there and get off... and when I am taking a break to play a game then don't do it in the middle of devotions! I hope I will get a lot more done this week because I am more focused.

My goals for this coming week:
Spiritual Goals
  1. Morning Devotions - including Bible reading, prayer, listening to music and reading a spiritual book. Read through Proverbs each month. Prayer will be a focus this year as that is my word for 2013. I am currently reading Desiring God: Meditations of a Christian Hedonist by John Piper. Done - Finished the Introduction in Desiring God and started chapter 1. Almost on track in Bible reading, I am just a half day behind and will be all caught up tomorrow.
  2. Read more of The Richest Man Who Ever Lived: King Solomon's Secrets to Success, Wealth, and Happiness. Not Done
  3. Participate in the Joy Dare in 2013. Writing down 3 things each day that are gifts from God, things to be thankful for totaling more than 1000 gifts in 2013. Done - this is going well and is a great addition to my morning routine... keeping me thinking of things I am grateful for, like: our car (supplied after someone crashed into our other one while it was parked in our driveway), books I received for Christmas, lunch with a friend, money from friends and family for Christmas... and a bunch more.
  4. Work on memorizing Psalm 5:1-3 in the KJV. Done - thanks to the song (I posted it last week) I memorized this portion of scripture in record time. Maybe I will set each of the portions of scripture I decide to memorize to music, though that may be harder than just memorizing them. http://zaazu.com
 Homeschool Goals
  1. Keep up with planning and ordering materials for school. Done - found some stuff for Christopher to read in the Heritage History-Early America cd that I won and in the Yesterday's Classics collection that I received for free when I was part of the TOS review crew.
  2. Be consistent with reviewing Christopher's daily work and logging it in. Done
  3. Check Christopher's hours for his school subjects so I know how much he has done, how much he still needs to do in the next 80 days or so of school. Not Done - gotta make this a priority and get it done this coming week.
Blog Goals
  1. Comment on the ladies blogs that link up to Goal Planning Monday. Done - I commented at Katrina @ Real Life: Unscripted at Cristi @ Through the Calm and Through the Storm and at Kym @ Homeschool Coffee Break
  2. Post reminder and future themes for Think Back Thursday on Wed. Done
  3. Post Think Back Thursday. Done
  4. Comment on each person's post that links up for Think Back Thursday.  Done
  5. Post a blog post that is not linked to a meme. Done - did a post about my prayer book. Not only did I get the post done but I got my prayer book updated for my year of focus on prayer. I am mostly happy with the way the things turned out.

Fitness Goals
  1. I want to exercise every day... some days will be longer than others. I want to do at least 15 minutes http://zaazu.comon 5 days and something the other days. I hope to work up to doing much more than this. Partly Done - I exercised a few days but not every day. I think I am going to change this goal to at least 4 days a week for now and really try and do that consistently and work up from there... success breeds success.
Personal/Other Goals
  1. Write my weekly goals down on paper, add some details I want for me. Done
  2. Read, Read, Read Done
  3. Work on saving files to my external drive. I have a lot to do because I have not kept up with it as I should. Done - I have just begun this and it will take a few weeks probably.... but I did work on it a bunch one day.
For this week that is  13 Done, 1 Partly Done, and 2 Not Done.
