Reading Challenge ~ May Update

Reading Challenge 2012

My goal for reading this year was to read 52 books or more in 2012. That is one book a week. I am proud that I am doing so well. I hope to continue to read more than I am supposed to. I don't want to just slump one month because I am already ahead in reading.

I am currently reading 9 books. One left over from school, some for personal reading, some for devotions. Some will be finished in a few days, some will be finished in a few weeks, some will not be finished until the end of the year. I would really like to get With Wolfe in Canada by G.A. Henty finished in June. I have plans to read a History book for my own knowledge this summer and I need to get going on it, but want to finish the Henty first.
 I love reading!
You can explore so much of our past and present and gain so much knowledge and encouragement! Also, reading is and can be Fun!

Read A Book Today!

Each month for the Reading Challenge we are supposed to do an update and link up. This month I read....

Woman of Grace
Woman of Grace by Kathleen Morgan
412 pages didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it it was amazing (my current rating)
This book is the sequel to Daughter of Joy which I read last month. I downloaded the first book on my Nook. This one I got from the library since I liked the first. Hannah Cutler struggles with learning to love and be loved. She is a former prostitute that had been forced into it and finally got out She moves in with the MacKay's and not only is shown love but meets and comes to know Jesus Christ. It is a good story of redemption and love but definitely an adult only book. I have book 3 from the series on my stack ready to read as soon as I finish the 4 Tales of Grace Chapel Inn books I also have from the library.

False Pretenses
False Pretenses by Kathy Herman
376 pages
didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it (my current rating) it was amazing
False Pretenses is a gripping Christian suspense novel that leaves a lasting impression about honesty and accountability. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was on the edge of my seat for quite a while, not knowing how things were going to work out. I got it free for Kindle at Amazon.

A Bride for Pastor Dan
By Katie Crabapple
43 pages
didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it (my current rating) it was amazing
I got this book for free for Kindle from Amazon. It is a very short book, but I enjoyed it. Book one in the Parkside Community Church series. The story moves along quickly from meeting to engagement to marriage. My husband and my meeting to marriage story was also quick, though not quite as quick as the one in the book.

Ready Made Family
By Katie Crabapple
40 pages
didn't like it it was ok liked it (my current rating) really liked it it was amazing
Book 2 in the Parkside Community Church series. A single mom struggles when wondering about a neighbor who is helpful and interested in her and her kids. Another great short little book. This one I bought for 99 cents on Amazon. I may buy book 3 and 4, but not now... I have other things to buy with my Amazon bucks and other books to read.

The Ultimate Guide To Homeschooling
You will find a review of this book on my
509 pages

That is 5 books in May!! That made 30/52 books for the year. I was 8 books ahead! (I have finished 2 books already in June which makes it 32/52 and 10 books ahead now).
