Homeschool Blog Hop - Time for Mum

This is a meme that is new to me.... I saw it on a TOS Crew member's site... My Journey. Each week Kylie posts a different theme, sometimes with questions to answer. I like how you add the links to the bottom of the post so you can HOP from one blog to the next without having to go back to the host site each time.

Here are this weeks questions:

How do you as a busy mum, find some time for you? It was harder when the kids were little. When they were little we participated in a babysitting co-op. We used points for babysitting instead of money. You got positive points when you babysat for someone and negative points when you went out and someone babysat your kids. It was great. Gave hubby and I time to go out for dates... even if they were just to get a soda and talk. We used it often.

Now that they are more grown they have things of their own to do and they can stay home without babysitters, so I have a little more time for myself. I do spend a lot of time on the TOS Crew stuff, planning and doing homeschooling, and doing homemaking stuff, but I make time for things I like to do sometimes. Cutting back on the outside the home activities for the kids gives us all time to pursue activities we like to do.

What's your sanctuary? Bible study is a must, first thing in the morning, before checking the Internet, without that I have no anchor, no foundation. I become unstable very easily. Praise Music is a must too. It is medicine to my soul.

Your place? My bedroom

Your thing? Scrapbooking, watching movies, playing a computer game, taking a bath with pretty smelling stuff and my plastic bath pillow.

Even when you can't leave the home behind what do you do at home with a houseful of children to find some time for you? When the kids were younger I made sure to take a nap time to do something I wanted to do every once in a while.instead of cleaning or working on school stuff. Also putting Godly music on when doing chores makes the chores a joy and lifts my spirit... makes it harder for the kids to complain, too.

What do you do to relax... join us by clicking on the link at the top.
