FOR TODAY... Monday, January 18, 2010
Outside my window... gloomy and gray and cold and rainy... at least it is not snow though!
I am thinking... that we have a lot of work to get done this week and I have a bunch of reviews I want to get written ahead of time, I like to start on them, let them sit, and then go over what I have written again before I post it.
I am thankful for... my laptop that makes me able to keep up with my Internet things (mail, blogging, research, etc.) while the boys do school.
From the learning rooms... Bible: ch 20 the Jordan and Jericho and ch 21 Judges; Chemistry: Chemistry experiments and other lessons, Composers: Schubert and Mendelssohn; History: Maximilian of Austria, Henry VIII and others as time allows, Grammar: giving the TOS review item more time, Reading: same as grammar; and some fun stuff and other subjects too.
From the kitchen... Knorr Spinach Dip to make to eat with the multigrain cakes (like rice cakes) that we bought.
I am wearing... jeans, blue top, red fleece top, shocks, sneakers.
I am creating... blog posts for future reviews.
I am going... to Bible Study, hopefully, on Friday, if I get a ride.
I am reading... Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling by Debra Bell, The Book of the King by Jerry B. Jenkins, a book I am reviewing for a lady on one of my Yahoo groups and my devotional books: A Praying Life, and Stepping Heavenward.
I am hoping... that the business we hope to start this year will take off and we will be able to save up to bring my husband home to work from here and away from the job he currently hates.
I am hearing... the dishwasher, kids talking, pages of books turning.
Around the house... we hope to get the Christmas decorations down today and the boxes put back in the attic.
One of my favorite things... Church... the Sunday School lesson was great yesterday, about the Holy Spirit; and our Pastor has been on fire lately and the sermons have been great. Yesterday was about True Love. First the love Christ shows then how we can share the same with others. Here are the high points: 1)True love willingly sacrifices, 2) True love compels us to please him, 3)True love seeks intimacy, and 4)True love initiates. Here is the link to my Pastor's sermons if you would like to listen: http://www.bfcnewarkde.org/page.aspx?id=452527
A few plans for the rest of the week: homeschooling, TOS review stuff, 365 Project photos to take daily and get posted, I am behind in getting them posted, an afternoon of scrapbooking, time with one of my kids doing what they want to do for a couple hours one afternoon.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
Taken from a moving car, through windows with salt on them, on the way home from a shopping trip at Shady Maple in PA.
Have a good week,
Debbie
