The Simple Woman's Daybook - Jan. 11, 2010

FOR TODAY...Monday, January 11, 2009

Outside my window... Clear and sunny and cold!! 16 degrees!

I am thinking... that I am glad to be back to a regular schedule even though that includes a long day of school with the boys.

I am thankful for... Winterthur membership... we renewed it yesterday... looking forward to another year of walking in a wonderful place full of the nature God created.

From the learning rooms... our first week back after 3 weeks off at Christmas. Lots to do. TOS review items, Renaissance/Reformation/Explorers, more chemistry, still on Raphael for painting, Beethoven for composers, typing program for TOS, handwriting program for TOS, guitar practice with TOS product, and a few other things. Starting St. Bartholomew's Eve (by Henty) for Historical Fiction. This is from a little later time period but we have a bunch of Henty's in a row later in our studies and need to get started on some of them early to get them all read.

From the kitchen... I have a spinach dip to make to go on the multigrain snack (similar to rice cakes).

I am wearing... green pants, off-white turtleneck, printed flannel shirt burgundy flowers and green leaves, and my sneakers.

I am creating... workboxes, but I hope to have some time this week to scrapbook... depends how long it takes the boys to do school.

I am going... no where!

I am reading... Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling by Debra Bell, The Book of the King by Jerry B. Jenkins, and my devotional books: A Praying Life, and Stepping Heavenward.

I am hoping... to have a good first day back at school

I am hearing... Nathan's Mindstorms motor going, stopping, going, stopping... it is a little annoying.

Around the house... more cleaning and organizing to do... we need to take the Christmas decorations down.

One of my favorite things... my laptop... where I can blog, read mail, etc. and keep an eye on the boys at the same time... thanks hubby!

A few plans for the rest of the week: School! Read, scrapbook, blog, keep going on my goals and my 365 project of taking a photo a day.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...one from Winterthur yesterday

Have a great week,
Debbie
