You are capable of more than you know. Choose a goal that seems right for you and strive to be the best, however hard the path. Aim high. Behave honorably. Prepare to be alone at times, and to endure failure. Persist! The world needs all you can give. - E. O. Wilson
I did not get as much done this week as I would have liked but I made good progress on stuff for school.
How do you like the quote I chose? Makes you think doesn't it?
My husband and I were talking about faith, today, in the car. I have strong faith for some things, temporary faith that seems strong in the beginning and fades with time about other things, and no faith for other things. Does God understand this? Yes, I think he does. He sent his son to earth, Christ had to deal with humans... humans like Peter and Thomas. Peter who had the faith to step out of a boat but then looked at the circumstances and was afraid. Thomas who loved the Lord but didn't have the faith to believe in his resurrection until he felt holes in Christ's hands... yet he was one of the chosen disciples.
They both received the Holy Spirit a few days later, they witnessed about the Lord to others, they broke bread and had all things common; Peter preached and thousands were saved on one day. They had lost faith, then they did great things for Christ, even though they had lost faith at one time. The same can happen for me.... and for you.
The loss of faith does not mean you are useless to God... and neither am I. I will continue to set goals, continue to try and have faith, continue to aim high. Persist. Strive for my goals.
This week, more homeschool planning as my title says. LOTS more homeschool planning.
Participants... It is not a requirement to comment on each others blogs but it would be nice to encourage each other. Please try and come back and check who else links up and go comment on their blog post. And comment on mine as well, we ALL could use some building up and community. My top priorities are marked with a *
My goals for this coming week:
Spiritual Goals
- *Morning Devotions - including Bible reading, prayer, listening to music and reading a spiritual book. Prayer will be a focus this year as that is my word for 2013. I am reading One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are by Ann Voskamp . I am done reading Praying God's Word but still have plenty of verses to read over and pray back to God. Do the study of the Book of John from Hello Mornings. Not Done - I don't think I did ANY devotions this week... I want to do better. Not because I have to, but because I want to... I really do.
- Read through Proverbs each month in the evenings. Not Done
- Participate in the Joy Dare in 2013. Writing down 3 things each day that are gifts from God, things to be thankful for totaling more than 1000 gifts in 2013. Not Done
- *Work on the Portfolio for last year's school. Done - Finished until I can get my desktop computer back. I need to scan and print some things.
- *Get to planning History. Done - not done planning but done as in I worked on it... a bunch this week. Still lots to do.
- *Check with Christopher on what extra subjects he wants to do this year. Not Done
- *Get the science stuff out and start looking at it. Done - Looked at Friendly Chemistry and started working on the games, cut out a bunch of cards for the games, got ketchup cups for the Do Op board.... started looking at the other curriculum.
- *Buy the curriculum I want. I am going to buy The Wise Woman with Literary Analysis Journal Questions. It is a suggested resource for the Philosophy Adventures program we are doing this year. I am getting the download so it doesn't cost much. I also may buy Chemistry 101. I asked about doing a review of the dvd set. I am waiting to hear. I have plenty of other Chemistry materials to get us started so I don't have to have the dvd's before we start school. Not Done
Exercise 1-2 days 15 min each time. I hope to be feeling well enough to start back by the end of the week.I don't know when I should start exercising again or even what to do once my hubby allows me to do more. Not Done- *Get my Weight Watchers dessert made... MUST DO! Not Done
- Eat fruit and veggies and drink water. Done
- Comment on everyone's blog that links up to the Goal Planning Monday linky. Done
- Post reminder and future themes for Think Back Thursday on Wed. Done
- Post Think Back Thursday. Done
