Goal Planning Monday ~ Week 63

Time to write some goals and strive to accomplish them this coming week??

Join us by clicking on the button above...
after you read my goals.

Goal Planning Monday has a new home - the banner above will take you to the new home for Goal Planning Monday @ Real Life Unscripted even though it says ti is @ mamamanuscripts. I changed the link to send you to the new place.

This was another terrible week. I was still struggling with my sinuses/allergies. Things seem to be on the mend, I hope!! The boys took advantage of this situation to do no school 2 days. That adds even more days onto our schedule for May. Oh well. It is what it is. We'll be done when we are done. I don't really care this year. I got a few things done, a few things partly done and a few things were left undone. Pretty even there. Hopefully this coming week will be better.

My Goals from last week and how I did:
Spiritual Goals
  1. Devotions daily - for the next few weeks, or however long it takes, I will be doing How People Change and How People Change Study Guide: How Christ Changes Us by His Grace. I have wanted to work on this and have not had the extra time. It has a lot of scripture, especially in the homework of the Study Guide. I will not be writing in my journal. I will be writing in the study guide.  Partly Done - Monday and Tuesday devotions done, nothing since then.
  2. Listen to Godly Music Daily, as part of my morning Devotions. Partly Done - Listened to music a few days, even though I didn't do devotions.
  3. Pray daily. Get the requests from my internet friends, Growth Group and Ladies Bible Study put onto notes and into my prayer book. Partly Done - added some notes to my prayer book, but not all of them.
  4. Read Power of a Praying Wife and leave hubby a note for each chapter I read. He needs the extra prayers and encouragement. http://zaazu.com   Not Done
  5. Read some of A Morning Cup of Prayer for Friends. Not Done
  6. Read some of My Utmost for His Highest - supposed to be doing before bed each night... I am way behind. Not Done
Homeschool Goals
  1. Keep Christopher doing all 12 workboxes.  Partly Done - He didn't do all 12, nor do school each day, but he did the majority of his work 3 days.
  2. Get Nathan to do all his school. We discovered, after a family conflict, that Nathan is finished a couple of subjects as far as his required hours. So he is concentrating on the subjects he has left. Even though he has less subjects to complete he is not getting them done daily which means he is further behind. If he wants to graduate in May he will have to get a move on!! Partly Done - sad, just sad.
  3. Keep up with logging in the boys work and grading as we go through the week. Partly Done - I have not recorded all the work, I did do some. I hope to catch up tomorrow.
  4. Start our Astronomy Unit. Done - watched the first movie read some in the books.
  5. Read Catherine the Great (World landmark books, 29)  for History. Done - 6 chapters done
  6. Get the questions and essay done for A Man for All Seasons... we are behind because of being sick last week. I think we can do both though and finish the week caught up on this. Partly Done - we did most of the questions, the boys did not do their essays. We watched the next movie, Henry V and hubby watched with us. He decided we would skip the questions, as well as skip the essay (which I had already planned to skip). It is really hard, especially for Christopher, to understand. So, we will work on the rest of Man for All Seasons this week and then we only have one movie left to go, Chariots of Fire! A great way to end!
Blog Goals
  1. Post Blast From The Past on Tuesday. Done
  2. Join in some favorite memes that I like to do and try and leave comments on a few blogs of those who link up. I will not be tracking my linking up but want to do it to encourage others to comment on my blog as well. Done - since I did this meme last week, that counts. I really didn't feel like blogging last week. Hopefully this week will be better.
  3. Post my yearly goal update for March. It's already April and it's late! Done
Personal/Other Goals
  1. Comment on all the other GPM ladies posts. Keep track of their names with links here so I know whose I have done. Not Done - there was no place to link up and no place to see the other ladies links. Now that Katrina has moved, we have a new place to link up.
  2. Log books into Book Collector software. Not Done
  3. Read, Read, Read! I will be linking up my reading this year to I am currently reading A A Time to Heal (Quilts of Lancaster County, #2)Time to Heal (Quilts of Lancaster County, Book 2) (type link goes to Amazon, picture link goes to Goodreads). This is a library book and I want to get it read before it has to go back. I have one other library book out for personal reading, I may have to send that one back and reserve it again... I don't know how many times I have renewed it. I have books to read aloud for History and Science, for homeschooling, and I need to keep working on Emma by Jane Austen. Done - I started a new book on the Kindle app that I figured out how to put on the Android dual boot that my hubby put on my Nook. The Android part is on a micro SD card. I spent time one day working on this while I was struggling with my allergies and was surprised to figure it out. All. by. myself. Yeah Me!! So, now I can read Nook books, pdf's and Kindle books on my Nook. I also downloaded 3 Angry Birds free apps from Amazon for the Android part. Such Fun and I now have access to over 700 free books from my Kindle Amazon account that I have been downloading to the app on my computer... and more books free every day.
  4. Make sure the kids keep up with chores and cooking. My hubby is back to eating gluten free, so that threw a wrench in my cooking plans. I need to work on my menus for April and figure out some things to make my hubby that are gluten free. I will also need to help the kids to create some gluten free dinners or do dad's meal separately until we get things planned and worked out. They all seem to need help with this. Done, this was a much better week, thanks, mostly, to my dd Rachel. She was really on the ball with cooking this week.
  5. Figure out what to do about the Saturday chores and get at least some of them done. Not Done
For this week that is 7 Done, 7 Partly Done, and 6 Not Done

  4. Spend time on our Astronomy Unit.
  5. Read Catherine the Great (World landmark books, 29)  for History.
  6. Get the last 8 questions done and then work on the essay for A Man for All Seasons. All done and complete by Friday.
  7. Read a book about Homeschooling. I am working on The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling by Debra Bell. This is a yearly goal and I want to do better on those goals this month.
Blog Goals
  1. Post Blast From The Past on Tuesday.
  2. Join in some favorite memes that I like to do and try and leave comments on a few blogs of those who link up. I will not be tracking my linking up but want to do it to encourage others to comment on my blog as well.
Personal/Other Goals
  1. Spend today, Monday, celebrating my dd Jessica's 23rd birthday. My how time flies. This day is for her. We don't have much money but time, that I can spend on her. We will do whatever she wants today, though we will be staying home to do it. We have lots of food planned, so eating will definitely be part of the celebration.
  2. Comment on all the other GPM ladies posts. Keep track of their names with links here so I know whose I have done.
  3. Log books into Book Collector software... at least finish the box of school books I had been working on... it is in my way.
  4. Read, Read, Read! I will be linking up my reading this year to I am currently reading A A Time to Heal (Quilts of Lancaster County, #2)Time to Heal (Quilts of Lancaster County, Book 2) (type link goes to Amazon, picture link goes to Goodreads). I have books to read aloud for History and Science, for homeschooling, and I need to keep working on Emma by Jane Austen. I started a book on my Kindle. I need to get that added to my Goodreads list. To do that I will have to turn my Nook/Android on and get the title... lol  :-) I can't remember the name of the book. It is really good so far though. I want to make a quantity of time available for reading this week. That means getting off the computer. I have a few books I am working on and would like to finish some of them up.
  5. Start reading a History book just for my own education. This is one of my yearly goals and I haven't started it yet. Yes, I know, I am already reading a lot. I have a few on my Kindle that I could start and one in my stack of books to read that I could start... not sure which one I will choose.
  7. Figure out what to do about the Saturday chores and get at least some of them done.
  8. Scrapbook - either digital or paper. I will not be setting a goal to do both, though if I can fit both in that would be fun.
  9. Work on organizing and then saving my computer files to our backup drives. I started this last week, but it is taking considerably more time than I thought it would. I need to do this more often so it doesn't take so long.
Do you have any goals for the week? Post your goals and link up. The button at the top will take you to the meme and you can join up with us. I have been doing this for more than a year now and setting weekly goals is really helping me keep focus and achieve more. Have a great week.
