Weight Loss Wednesdays ~ Stress

For WLS there is usually a topic. This week it is open to whatever we want to talk about. I am finally joining back up with Weight Loss Wednesdays. I also put exercise goals on my goal list on Monday. I am not going to really focus on weight loss right now. I am focusing on getting in some exercise on a regular basis. If that causes me to loose weight, great. I am not focusing on closely watching my diet either. I am trying to use exercise to help with the extreme stress in my life.

My husband has been unemployed for more than 2 years. He is home every day. We did have unemployment compensation. That ended a few months ago. We were living on our tax return. That is gone as well. Now, God has to pay the bills and I have to trust. Some days that is easier than others. The stress causes me to eat things that are not healthy for me. I want to run to Christ instead of to food. That is one thing I am working on and I am getting back to exercising. I have the Wii Fit and Wii Active Life "games" to play with my kids (the boys especially like these). We also have a Bowflex and an elliptical walker. There is no reason not to exercise, I make excuses nonetheless. I am sure I will have setbacks and eat what I shouldn't but I will continue on. I can exercise even if I eat a cookie... or 2. http://zaazu.com I know exercising will help me deal with the stress better. Playing with the Wii Active Life with my sons (family) is also fun!

Yesterday I weighed in on my Wii Fit and was surprised to find I had only put on a little weight since the last weigh in. That was encouraging. If you scroll all the way down my blog you will see that before yesterday I had not changed my weight loss ticker since the 25th of January. I do have weight loss goals for 2012 and I do want to be healthier.

My goals this week from my Monday goal post are:
  1. I want to weigh in today and update my weight loss ticker, though I am scared to do that! http://zaazu.com  I did this yesterday not Monday. My weight is posted above on my ticker.
  2. I want to work out at least 3 days this week.  I already worked out yesterday... so that is a good start.
  3. I will not be tracking my food because we are on such a tight budget that eating well is hard to do. Also, the stress makes me crave stuff. I will be making a Weight Watchers 1 point dessert early this week to help fend off my cravings a little. Doing some things is better than doing nothing! I have not made my dessert yet... but my daughter did make chocolate chip cookies... not exactly diet food. I hope to make my Fat Free Chocolate Cake today.

Now it is time to get off this computer and go exercise. Then I have some household chores to do.

Bless your heart, Debbie~I so get the STRESSED THING..and it's what causes me and most of the overweight to eat. About 2 yrs ago I found overeaters anonymous oa.org online which has meetings for 'compulsive' overeating (stress eating) every hour around the world and online/also telephone meetings. This is what I've been doing which has netted SO FAR a 160 plus wt loss...I'm so thankful for the 12 step recovery I've found through the Lord and OA. The principles are simple and profound... I'm praying for you and sending you a BIG HUG!! BE BLESSED TODAY~I know God's got you and your family in the palm of HIS HAND~NOTHING according to Romans 8 CAN SNAG YOU OUT! BIG Hugs,c

I enjoyed reading your post and appreciate you honesty. You know what you need to do and have a good plan. Exercise is my biggest issue. You have inspired me.

Visiting from Confessions of a Snowflake!
It's difficult to stick to goals when there is stress to deal with...good for you for continuing to press on!
Keep up the good work!

Sounds like a good plan for coping with the stress. It is hard to find healthy ways to cope.

I hate stress! It causes all sorts of problems ;) On a serious note, I am sorry to hear about your husband's job status. My husband was out of work once and I remember how difficult that can be. But I love your weight loss goals. They seem doable. And you can do this...just remember one step at a time...one day at a time.

Glad to have you joining the WLWed community again!
