Think Back Thursday ~ Outdoor Games

There were a number of outdoor games photos I could have used this week.
I chose
Vacation Bible School
at our church
from July 1998

I will be focusing on the games the kids are playing,
not on pointing out my children.
One of my children is in some of the photos but not every photo has one of my kids in it.

Most of the games we played/play at VBS center around water,
because we have VBS in July and it is sooo hot.

Enjoy.

Traditional Water Balloon Toss

Hold On and Run Race
Don't Break the Chain or you have to start over.

Pass a large sponge full of water over your head and squeeze it into a bucket at the back of the line...
if there is any water left in it
http://zaazu.com
Keeping hands linked move the rubber tube over your body and on to the next person down the line

Dip a sponge in the water,
put it on your head,

run down to the end of the field,
and squeeze the water that is left into a bucket.
First team to fill the bucket wins.

Run with an air filled balloon smushed between two people
don't let it fall
if you go to fast and don't push toward each other enough the air will catch it
and then you have to stop, pick it up, and start again.

Toss a water balloon to the other side of the volleyball net with a blanket

...if it breaks on your side the other team gets a point.

The kids always have lots of fun at VBS

Now you share... got any photos of outdoor games you want to share?

I upgraded Mr. Linky so that I can have more than one linky at a time showing... that means last week's linky will still be available to view and add links to. It only costs $5 a year. I am considering upgrading to the one that allows thumnail linkies. Do you prefer them? Or is the URL/name linky fine with you?

Next Week, June 21st the theme will be
Father's
you can do your father, father-in-law, or your kids father (your husband), you could even do grandfather, or great grandfather if you have photos.

June 28th the theme will be
Graduation
I will be sharing a very recent graduation this time... not old photos...
since my 3rd oldest, my son Nathan, will be graduating on June 23rd from our homeschool.
You can do your graduation or the graduation of any relative or friend.

Here are the Rules for participating:
The purpose of Think Back Thursday is to link up a photo post about something from the past. You can reach back all the way to your childhood and bravely post pictures of you in your wild clothes and hair styles or post something from last year and tell us about it. I'm not picky. Hey, even yesterday was the past... LOL
  • It can be about you, about your kids, about your parents, whomever. You can include video, I will not exclude video alone posts, but I prefer them along with photos, as this is a photo meme. I am doing a weekly theme now. That should help narrow it down from the myriad of photos we all have. For ideas check out the other posts in my label Think Back Thursday.
  • Link up below. Please use a permalink that sends readers directly to the correct post. If you are not sure what that is click the word permalink for an explanation.
  • Mention my blog and offer a link back. This is a requirement to take part and a kind gesture to me your hostess as well as your readers--they will know where to join in the fun, too. You can put the Think Back Thursday button on your site and in your post. You will find it on my right sidebar. Please use it to link to my site, to spread the word about my meme. Using the button will help others know how to find me and how to join. Tell others to click on the button in your post to find us here.
  • Leave me a comment. First so that you can let me know what you think of my pictures and secondly so that I will know a new post has been linked up and I can come visit your blog and comment on your photos.

Oh what fun games! There were several on your list that I've never heard of. I really want to try that tube over the shoulders one and the water balloon blanket toss. Thanks for sharing and for hosting!

I didn't even think to look at my VBS pictures while pulling my post together! We love VBS and outdoor games are always a favorite for the kids.

Very fun! We've played a few of those. The sponge relay is one I don't think we've ever tried, but it looks perfect for those very hot summer days! ;-)

It looks like you have fun-filled VBS at your church. We just finished a busy week with ours this year.

Thanks for the encouragement to dig back through all my pictures stored on my computer. It's always fun hunting through them.
