I decided I am tired of just numbering my posts so I am going to start labeling them with my #1 goal for the coming week or some cute saying or if I am stuck maybe just the date.

I had a great week. I accomplished all my goals. That does not happen often. I felt good emotionally this week also. I am not looking forward to the day ahead. Today I have a dentist appointment to get my root canal finished. To say that I am dreading it is an understatement. I am hoping there is no pain like the pain I had last visit. The dentist had to digging out the last bit of live root, it is not a fun thing. I felt every poke. The first poke that caused pain nearly put me through the roof. "This may hurt a little," is the comment I got after that first poke, that made me jump, and clench my hands on the arm rests. The root should be all dead now and so the only pain SHOULD be the novocaine shots. They will drill the temporary filling out and the stuff they put in to make sure all the infection is dead, then they will fill the tooth. Then I will come home and let the family baby me the rest of the day. The next step will be a crown. I have never had one of those so I don't know if it will cause any pain or not. Once the root canal is done, this afternoon, the rest of the week should be good!!! Tuesday my hubby has a Dr. appointment and I have to go with him. The rest of the week is clear.

My top priorities are marked with a *

My goals for this coming week:
Spiritual Goals
  1. *Morning Devotions - including Bible reading, prayer, listening to music and reading a spiritual book. Read through Proverbs each month. Prayer will be a focus this year as that is my word for 2013. I read Desiring God: Meditations of a Christian Hedonist by John Piper. And, I will be starting to read Praying God's Word: Breaking Free from Spiritual Strongholds by Beth Moore and I have the journal as well Praying God's Word: Devotional Journal. I love Beth Moore studies. I am looking forward to this. Hubby bought both of these for me recently... just because. Done - A good week. I especially enjoyed my chapters in Praying God's Word.
  2. Participate in the Joy Dare in 2013. Writing down 3 things each day that are gifts from God, things to be thankful for totaling more than 1000 gifts in 2013. Done
Homeschool Goals
  1. Keep up with school. Done
  2. Be consistent with reviewing Christopher's daily work and logging it in. Done - I not only logged in this week's work I totaled up Christopher's hours for Educational Foundations to make sure he will finish that credit. He only needs to read for one hour this week to finish this credit. Yippee!!
Blog Goals
  1. Done - I forgot to list this as one of my goals, but I did it, so I am adding it in. I commented on the ladies blogs from Goal Planning Monday - I commented at our hostess's blog Katrina @ Mama Manuscripts, I commented on Cristi's blog @ Through the Calm and Through the Storm, I commented at Kym's blog Homeschool Coffee Break
  2. Post reminder and future themes for Think Back Thursday on Wed. Done
  3. Post Think Back Thursday. Done
  4. Comment on each person's post that links up for Think Back Thursday. Done
Personal/Other Goals
  1. Write my weekly goals down on paper, add some details I want for me. Done
  2. Save files to my external drive. Done
  3. *Start Spring Cleaning... we are starting in our very messy, disorganized basement. Done - only a little and there is a LOT more to do but I hope to spend an afternoon or 2 on it this week.
  4. Read. Done - I read and finished Portraits of Integrity vol. III, I am still WAY behind where I want to be. I need to get reading!!!
  5. Done - I am adding this in because I made time to do it this week and wanted to post about it. I finished my 30 day challenge which I was started in January. Better late than never. I am glad I persevered and finished. You, too, can do this 30 day challenge. What does it challenge you to do??? It is for goal setting and accomplishing more in your life.... and it is FREE!! I do recommend it. I did not pay for anything... not even my certificate at the end. Check it out  http://www.30daypush.com/ You can sign up and start at any time. I did not finish in a month and that is ok. You get daily e-mails but you can access the classes at any time. I can go back and watch any or all of them again.
For this week that is 13 Done, 0 Partly Done, and 0 Not Done.

My goals for this coming week:

  1. Keep up with school. This is our last week of school for this year, so that is GREAT.
  2. Be consistent with reviewing Christopher's daily work and logging it in.
Blog Goals
  1. Comment on Goal Planning Monday
  2. Post reminder and future themes for Think Back Thursday on Wed.

  5. Write and post about my Reading for April.
  6. Write and post my Monthly Goal post for April.
Personal/Other Goals
  1. Write my weekly goals down on paper, add some details I want for me.
  2. Save files to my external drive.
  3. *Work on Spring Cleaning... we are starting in our very messy, disorganized basement. If we, as a family, don't work in the basement then I need to get something else done... like deep cleaning my bedroom and washing my bedroom windows... or something! I have to get started before the weather gets to hot.
  4. Read. Read. Read.... I am way behind. I should get some reading done on Tuesday while waiting at the Dr. with my hubby. I really need to finish at least 2 books this week.
  5. *Write a letter and Doodle a card. Yes, in this day and age of technology I am going to take the time to doodle a hand made card and write a letter and send them by snail mail. I may type the letter on the computer though and print it out to save my hands... is that cheating?? I will sign it by hand, does that make a difference??? Maybe I should just write it all out by hand?? I can't decide.

New 'Job" for me in digital scrapbooking

I am glad to announce that I am now a CT member for
Digi Cyber Scraps

Are you wondering what CT is...
...it stands for Creative Team

I will be making scrapbook pages for Carolyn
find out more about Carolyn here
I am glad to be 'working' for her

Each month I get to try out at least one of Carolyn kits. She sends me the kit and I make 2 layouts with it. I post the layouts on my blog and post them to a couple of gallerys that showcase her scrapbook kits. Great deal huh? I help Carolyn out and I get free scrapbook stuff.

Digi Cyber Scraps

I am not very experienced and I am grateful that Carolyn accepted me as part of her team. Thanks also to Susan I hope to grow in my knowledge. I want to start watching some more of the tutorials that are out there.. especially the free ones on the My Memories site. That should help my pages look better as well.

Here are my first 2 pages for DigiCyberScraps and Carolyn.
I used the kit Bring Your Mittens

  Dcs_bring_your_mittens_kit_thumb_medium

Spring had started, according to the calendar, but God had a different idea.
The snow was pretty and it didn't last long, so I didn't mind to much.

Buy some of Carolyn's Scrapbook stuff... she has some great kits, and always has some great deals in her store as well. Check it out at the Digi Cyber Scraps Store ...

...and leave me a comment to let me know what you think of my pages.

Think Back Thursday ~ Rain... etc.

Today's Theme
any or all of the following

Showers/Rain/Rainbow/Kids Playing in the Rain

I decided to share two sets of photos.
My favorite photos I have ever taken on these topics.

The first are of my son Nathan
July 1995
He was one year old.

Yes, it looks like he was playing in the mud, not the rain... but it was raining... so it counts.

I love it!!! He is ALL boy.

And now my favorite rainbow photos.
A double rainbow.
God is a wonderful creator.
I love rainbows... signs that God always keeps his promises.
Enjoy!

Genesis 9:13-16 (ESV)
"I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”

 BEA.U.TI.FUL.

As you can see, this was a complete rainbow for the lower bow, we could see the whole thing. The outer bow we could only see on the left and the right... not at the top.

The best I could do for a panoramic photo
It does look awesome....
Thanks to my Awesome God!!

Goal Planning Monday ~ Week 117

Time to write some goals and strive to accomplish them this coming week??

after you read my goals.

(our hostess is moving back to her other blog, the button is linked back to Mama Manuscripts)

A pretty good week considering the stress of my e-mail and a few other family matters that came up.

One of the reasons it was a good week was that we, my family, took Friday off. We spent the day together. My son only had to work a few hours in the morning so we had the whole rest of the day together. We each chose an activity and the whole family did it together. First we played on the Wii... Christopher chose to play Mario Kart and I chose to play Wii Party. Then we played our Would You Rather Board Game, that was Jessica's pick. Lastly we watched 3 movies Rachel chose Night at the Museum, my hubby chose A Knight's Tale (we have some things we skip in this movie... even my hubby and I skipt them if it is just us watching... but we like the rest of the movie enough to watch it on occasion) and Nathan chose Knight and Day. We bought some frozen pizza to eat so no one had to take a lot of time cooking and we had a GREAT day.

I am now marking my top priorities with a *

My goals for this coming week:
Spiritual Goals
  1. *Morning Devotions - including Bible reading, prayer, listening to music and reading a spiritual book. Read through Proverbs each month. I love Beth Moore studies. I am looking forward to this. Hubby bought both of these for me recently... just because. Done - I did really well this week with my Bible study. I am enjoying Praying God's Word a lot.
  2. Participate in the Joy Dare in 2013. Writing down 3 things each day that are gifts from God, things to be thankful for totaling more than 1000 gifts in 2013. Done - I am all caught up and enjoying this.
Homeschool Goals
  1. Keep up with planning and ordering materials for school. Done - we only have 2 weeks to go and I am sure I have enough History for that time period. I am not sure about Science but if we run out I will find something for him to read/do to finish out the year.
  2. Be consistent with reviewing Christopher's daily work and logging it in. Done

Personal/Other Goals
  1. Write my weekly goals down on paper, add some details I want for me. Done
  2. *Get things with my e-mail and online accounts taken care of. Passwords need to be changed, settting checked, and e-mail may need complete revamping. What a PAIN! Partly Done - I fixed what I could fix and changed a bunch of my passwords. I still need to record some of the new passwords in a program we have for storing them safely on our computers. I also have to decide about whether I want to divy up my personal friend e-mail and my website/business e-mails that I get. It was suggested by  a website my hubby read on what to do if your e-mail is hacked.
  3. Done - sort and start saving files to my exertnal drive... this was not planned but I had some time and this was on the to get done soon list... so I am adding it in because I worked on it for quite a while on 2 different days.
For this week that is 9 Done, 1 Partly Done, and 0 Not Done.

Think Back Thursday - Outdoors

Today's Theme
Outdoors
(any activity that takes place outside)
That leaves it wide open... lot of friends should be able to join in on this one.

I decided to feature photos from one month.
June 1995
I hope you enjoy my trip down memory lane with outside photos of my kids and some friends and family.

Nathan would have been almost a year old in these photos.
Jessica would have been 6 years old in these photos.
Rachel would have been 9 years old in these photos.

First we have my dd's and a friend. These were taken in their friend's backyard.
Jessica is on the left. Their friend is in the middle and he was between the girls in age as well. Rachel is on the right.

The kids had so much fun painting outside in the yard on that warm summer day.

These photos are with the same friend. We were going to a play at a theater in the city. This is outside the theater on the steps. I am not sure if they were taken before or after the play.
Jessica, friend, Rachel.

Nathan, Rachel, Jessica

Field trip to White Clay Creek State Park.
They were having a kids program... I wish I had kept better records of what the theme of the day was.

Many of our friends were at the program at the creek that day.

This was a Free Day at the Brandywine River Museum in Pennsylvania.
We only managed to get to a couple of these... but the kids enjoyed all the activities.
Jugglers

I think this was a guy with animals... but I'm not sure. Rachel was a volunteer... for what I am not sure.

I don't know if there were direction on what to draw here, but the girls seem to have enjoyed it.

The girls wanted a swing and we didn't have money for one...

So... like all good kids who are resourceful (and homeschoolers) they made one themselves.
From a couple jumpropes and a plastic tub lid.
It is great to see them making do and having soooo much fun.

This is Jessica's Kindergarten Graduation party. We had it on my mom's screened in porch in the home where I grew up. When Rachel graduated from Kindergarten we had a whole program we put on for our extended family, as well as a party afterwards. Jessica would not sing one song or recite one poem. I was disappointed but it was ok. We enjoyed our time together celebrating her accomplishment anyway. When it came time for the boys to be done Kindergarten we did not even do a party.

Nathan and Nanny (my mother)
I loved this screened in back porch.
We miss it terribly.
My mother moved in with my sister and sold the home I grew up in.
Someday I hope to have a home with a screened in porch.
We used it all the time.

The cake, made by my sister-in-law, was gorgeous and delicious.

Painting storm drains.
This was my friend's idea and was done in her neighborhood. I had never seen this done and have never seen it done again. The kids had a lot of fun though! Don't mind the old odd color combos of the girls clothes. Old clothes are needed when spray painting.

Love this expression!!

I don't have any idea why we measured the grates... but it was part of the process evidently.

I actually caught the paint coming out of the spray paint can in this photo.
COOL

Well, now it is your turn.

By the way. Do you like the new introduction at the top and the Rules for Participating photos. I did it with Picmonkey.com. My daughter showed me how. It makes things simpler, more pretty, and a friend mentioned that Google Analytics doesn't like seeing the same words over and over and over on a blog. I am not really trying to get better "grades" from Google but I thought it was a good idea. I hope you can read them and I hope you enjoy them.
