Homeschool Mother's Journal

The Homeschool Mother's Journal

In my life this week… I have been busy homeschooling, writing reviews for TOS, cooking, watching a few movies with my mom and family, playing a few games.

In our homeschool this week… See my Weekly Wrap-up post a little later today.

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share… Workboxes are the bomb!!! They keep us so organized and make it possible to clean up quickly each day and eat dinner together on the same table that we do school on all day.

I am inspired by… the Word of God... from today's devotions. Ezekiel 33:31 "So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their moth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their gain." Sobering. Makes me evaluate myself, my actions, and my heart.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing… Going no where... seeing no one but my family. I am not even going to church this week. I am staying home with my 98 year old mother who can't sit that long with her feet down or walk all the way to the bathroom in our current facilities. Also we have a yearly church picnic I will be missing since she can't sit their either and would not make it to the porta potties up the hill from the picnic tables. I will get a lot accomplished though... while she is watching tennis today, tomorrow and Sunday afternoon.

My favorite thing this week was… Playing Civilize this with my boys and my mom yesterday. Photos and a review of the game on my blog... next post down.

What’s working/not working for us… Chores are going well with our new system. Hoping to write a post about it this weekend and schedule it to post one day next week.

Questions/thoughts I have… I can't wait until Sunday when the Fearlessly Feminine challenge is over and I can put my jeans on. I can't quit, I can't give up the challenge now that I started, but I can't wait until it is over.

Things I’m working on… portfolios from last year, still http://zaazu.comand I am trying to get most of the items on my goal list for the week accomplished - Goal Planning Monday ~ Week 32

I’m reading… Recipes & Wooden Spoons (Tales from Grace Chapel Inn, Book 2) Recipes & Wooden Spoons (Tales from Grace Chapel Inn, Book 2)

I’m cooking… I don't know what I will cook next week. I only have to cook dinner on Thursdays. Ds Nathan, 17 yo, is cooking tonight... He said he is making rice crispy covered boneless chicken breast, with some veggies and some kind of pasta/potato/bread for a side.

I’m praying for… work for my husband... unemployed 18 months and good health for my Pastor who was taken to the hospital after service last week. His heart was racing and he as feeling really weak and dizzy. He was feeling bad before service but went on with church anyway. We did a hymn sing and testimonies, he didn't have the energy to preach. They did not find anything wrong. He was released from the hospital the next day and is going to wear a monitor so they can tell if anything else goes on with his heart in the next few weeks.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…
A double rainbow we saw a few weeks ago at our house. I keep thinking about it. It reminds me that God keeps his promises and cares about the daily personal things in my life. By the way... the picture does not do it justice... and it was taken with my camera's panoramic assist function.

  1. I did the Fearlessly Feminine Challenge too (but didn't post about it.) I don't think I can go back to pants now. I have loved the skirts this week and my boys told me I looked like a princess everyday!! LOL
