First off I weighed myself each morning this week so I could get an accurate read on my weight. I had been weighing myself at all different times of the day. So this week I got up, had my devotions and then went down and weighed myself before I ate... until today. I needed to get my Blast From The Past done and posted and I had Ladies Bible Study. I ran downstairs and got some cereal and came back to my room to work on my post. I was on my way to Bible study... and running late... when I realized I had not weighed myself.!!! AHHHHHHHHH!! all week and then to forget today! Frustrating. Well, after lunch I weighed myself and from last weeks weight to today's is +0.4. I worked out so hard this week. Monday 30 min., Tuesday 46 minutes Wed. 45 minutes on the Wii Fit and then 45 minutes on Wii Sports doing boxing, bowling, golf and then a fitness test which includes stamina, power and speed; Thurs I did 1 hour 2 minutes on the Wii Fit, and today I did 47 minutes. My hubby says he thinks I am loosing weight. She says he thinks I am thinner. But it is frustrating not to see it on the scale and missing weighing myself this morning just adds to the frustration.
I am also still struggling with what to eat for lunch. For so many years we had store brand mac and cheese, store brand ravioli, pb &j or toasted cheese for lunch... cheap way to feed myself and 4 kids. Now eating healthy at lunch is such a challenge.
I did do better on keeping my journal. That is a little bit encouraging. Also encouraging was the fact that I motivated a few of you last week with my posting of my routine on my Wii Fit. Click HERE in case you missed it.
I found it easy to encourage my daughter earlier this week when she was discouraged about her fitness and weight loss. I find it hard to apply those same words to myself.
Goals for next week:
- Work out at least 4 days and I want at least one of them to be 45 minute workouts and at least one to be over an hour. We should be adding in a good, long walk at Winterthur in addition to the workouts, probably on Sunday.
- Keep my food diary and track food and Weight Watchers points.
- Drink at least 46 oz. of water a day.

The scale can be so discouraging! I don't know why, but we all seem to want the scale's affirmation that what we are doing is getting results. We know that exercise is good for us, whether the scale reflects it or not, but, oh, how we want the scale to say it! I'm there with you.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and Blast from the Past.. I have done a lot of posts under that label and am excited to be a part of your linky!
ReplyDeletePraying for you, Debbie~it's so hard and REMEMBER the SCALE IS NOT the measure of your success, but rather HOW you DO each time you eat and exercise! That SCALE CAN LIE..not overall now, but those flux things...I gave UP watching those numbers and trying to leave it to God and figuring out how LOOSE my clothes are...;-)) Sending you a hug!!
ReplyDeleteJust remember when you are working out you will gain muscle and that weighs more than fat. So just be patient and it will come off.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Don't be discouraged. The weight will come off if you keep on going as you have been.
ReplyDeleteMore importantly, you'll feel and look much better as the fat melts away.
So what if the scale can't tell that some of that fat was replaced by muscle! It's just a machine, after all!
((Hugs))

Well, if your hubby says you're skrinking then you're doing great! I think you're gaining some muscle.
