Time to write some goals and strive to accomplish them this coming week??

after you read my goals.

(our hostess is moving back to her other blog, the button is linked back to Mama Manuscripts)

A pretty bad week where I didn't get hardly anything done, followed by a very productive Sunday where I got a lot done. Therefore... I am behind in a few things and some things I only got a little bit done on... but better than nothing. I have had a pretty productive morning already so I am hopeful that this week will be better than last week.

My goals for this coming week:
Spiritual Goals
  1. Morning Devotions - including Bible reading, prayer, listening to music and reading a spiritual book. Read through Proverbs each month. Prayer will be a focus this year as that is my word for 2013. I am currently reading Desiring God: Meditations of a Christian Hedonist by John Piper. Done - I took to many days off from having my devotions, so I am behind, but I am working to catch up and should be all caught up by Tues or Wed.
  2. Participate in the Joy Dare in 2013. Writing down 3 things each day that are gifts from God, things to be thankful for totaling more than 1000 gifts in 2013. Done - I have a few gifts that I have not thought of an answer for but I am caught up otherwise.
Homeschool Goals
  1. Keep up with planning and ordering materials for school. Done - have plenty of books for this week.
  2. Be consistent with reviewing Christopher's daily work and logging it in. Done
  3. Check more of Christopher's hours for his school subjects so I know how much he has done, how much he still needs to do in the next 80 days or so of school. Not Done - I have to make this a priority this week. I only got one subject done, and that was a couple weeks ago, and need to know how we are doing with all the others. The end of the year is coming fast and I want to be sure Christopher has enough hours.
Blog Goals
  1. Comment on the ladies blogs that link up to Goal Planning Monday. Done - I commented on our hostess Katrina's blog at Real Life Unscripted at Cristi @ Through the Calm and Through the Storm at Kym @ Homeschool Coffee Break, at Meg @ Adventures with Jude, and at Karen @ The Fruit of Her Hands
  2. Post reminder and future themes for Think Back Thursday on Wed. Done
  3. Post Think Back Thursday. Done
  4. Comment on each person's post that links up for Think Back Thursday.  Done
  5. Post a meme or 2 I like to participate in. Not Done - I have a schedule for meme's I want to make sure to do this week. I hope that will help.
  6. Post a blog post that is not linked to a meme. Not Done - I have plans for a post for this week... Just gotta get it done.
  7. Post a review of a book I was given... it is new out today... need to get this done asap. Done and posted. There is also a giveaway... so check it out.
Fitness Goals
  1. I want to exercise at least 15 minutes on 2-3 days and something the other days. I hope to work up to http://zaazu.comdoing more than this. Partly Done - I exercised one day.
  2. Eat more salad, vegetables, and fruit. (I have been doing pretty well no this). I have an oriental salad dressing I want to make as well. Done - Had salad a couple times.
Personal/Other Goals
  1. Write my weekly goals down on paper, add some details I want for me. Done
  2. Read, Read, Read -
    • Read at least 4 chapters of Emma (would like it to be more) Done - I am actually starting to enjoy reading this.
    • Read 3 or 4 chapters of one of the History books I am reading. Not Done
    • I also need to choose a Christian Fiction to read. Done - The Memory Jar , by Tricia Goyer on page 32 now.
  3. Work on saving files to my external drive. I have a lot to do because I have not kept up with it as I should. Done - got some work done on it... MUCH more to do.
  4. Work on my Doodle classDone- such FUN
  5. Work on my 30 day challenge from Jan. ... Yeah... I am behind. Done- still have more days to make up
  6. Work on my wood projects for my bedroom and the living room. Done - can't wait to do more on them this week.
  7. Finished up Valentine decorations - I had planned to do a post about my Valentine decorations BEFORE Valentines day. I just made excuses and did not do it. Maybe
  8. Work on a chore list so I can do small things often, a few every day,  instead of letting chores pile up and then ignoring them because it is all to overwhelming. We are doing thing differently around here and need a new system. Not Done - gotta make this a priority this week as well.
For this week that is  18 Done, 1 Partly Done, and 5 Not Done.

  1. I like this tip: Work on a chore list so I can do small things often, a few every day, instead of letting chores pile up and then ignoring them because it is all to overwhelming. We are doing thing differently around here and need a new system.

It makes such a difference and makes household chores seem a lot less daunting. I try to have certain days I'll so certain things..like Monday I vacuum and dust a certain room, Tuesday is laundry after I leave the gym, Wednesday is wiping down my sons toys (cold and flu season here) and so on. I highly recommend this method to anyone who is a busy mom or has that sense of being overwhelmed!

  2. I usually post 7-10 monthly goals on my blog and break it down for each week. I love how you've categorized your goals - I should try that too.. I'm sure blogging about your weekly goals keeps you motivated to complete it. Blessings!
