Friday was one of the most wonderful days I have had in a long time. I had the privilege of going to Ladies Bible Study and then I took my best friend Michele to Longwood Gardens. We have a year's membership... this is what we do instead of vacations right now. We can't afford to go away and sleep in a hotel so we use our memberships as our getaway.
She came and joined me at Ladies Bible Study, then since my daughters were with me, they babysit for Ladies Bible Study, we took them home. Then we took off in Michele's car and stopped for a quick lunch at McD's. Then off to Longwood we went. We had a great time. Walked for a little while, sat and chatted, walked some more, chatted some more while we got a drink, then walked some more. We walked for at least 4 1/2 hours. The weather was just gorgeous and it was a perfect day.
Here are the pictures of the day. The pictures of labels of flower names come before the flower that they are about. Got that. First it says Chenille Plant then comes the picture(s) of that plant... The Chenille Plant was one of Michele's favorites.
I was really surprised to see roses and what looked like crocuses... blooming... in October! One of the things I like about Longwood is there are always flowers blooming... even in the winter there will be flowers in the Conservatory. The cat is one of the workers at Longwood... they have a number of cats working there... to keep down the rodent population.
Here are 2 videos I took that same day.
Turn up the sound and listen to the roar of the waterfall.
But, the day was not over after we walked at Longwood. We went out to dinner. It has been so long since I have had such a good day. I will remember it for a long time and it will help to take me through the months ahead. Love you Michele.
