Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. What is something that bothers you if it is not done perfectly? I can't think of anything. I am not really a perfectionist. I am especially glad to have it done imperfectly if someone else is doing it and I don't have to! LOL My son says I like my blog posts perfect. I do like to correct spelling but I never consider my posts perfect so I don't count that!

2. What is one of your best childhood memories? Sunday Outings - My dad loved to take drives on Sunday after church and I never knew where we would end up.  As far as I know he never planned these trips. Each Sunday we would take off in the car after church. Most weeks we would go out to lunch, some weeks we would pop in on relatives and we never called first. If they were home and it was ok to stay good, if they were out or busy that was fine too. Some weeks we ended up on a blanket at Valley Forge and some weeks we would walk at Longwood Gardens. I loved both of these places... still do. Some weeks we would just drive after we ate. My dad said we were never lost as long as we had gas in the tank. He would drive and drive and sometimes get "lost" for a while then we would come upon a road Dad remembered and then he would know where he was again. I loved these days... times with my mom and dad and I don't remember doing this with any siblings... only Mom and Dad and I.

3. Do you plan to watch the Royal Wedding and when was the last time you wore a hat? I do not plan to watch the Royal Wedding. The last time I wore a hat was one sunny day at winterthur last year. I wore my straw hat to shade my face... it is pretty... it has straw flowers on it.

4. Where do you fall in the birth order in your family? Do you think this has influenced your personality? I am the youngest of 4, my siblings are 9, 12, and 15 years older than I am ... and yes... this definitely affected my personality. I am outgoing because I went everywhere with my mom and dad... my sibling are all much older than I am. My sister says I grew up in a completely different family... almost like an only child. By the time I have memories of my childhood my siblings were mostly grown and 2 of them were not living at home any more. My sister also says I was spoiled, but I was never a brat, I was a good girl who tried to please her parents and her Lord.

5. Where do you think you spend most of your money? Me personally or the family???? Me personally it would be Books. Used and New! I love books!!!!!!

Family I am not sure? Home improvements, mortgage, car insurance??? I am not sure what costs us the most??? Maybe it is gas for the car??? It is soooo expensive these days. Maybe it is the electric bill with all the lights, computers, appliances to run and air conditioning we use??? I don't really know. I guess I should know more about the bills we pay but when my hubby and I talk about those things I get so emotional and he shuts down and the discussion ends. It is the way it is.

6. When you need to confront someone would you rather communicate in person, on the phone, by email or by letter? Why? Depend who it is. I would rather do it by mail but sometimes it has to be done in person. I hate confrontation so I avoid it completely if I can.

7. Dodge ball, freeze tag, kickball or jump rope? You have to pick one. Jump Rope!
I picked my favorite from childhood. Second would be kickball or freeze tag. Never ever would I pick dodge ball... hated it with a vengeance... afraid of getting "killed".

8. Insert your own random thought here. Though I have a lot of projects to work on over the summer I still can't wait for school to be done. Only 7 more days and then summer break. It will be a busy but welcome break. The closer it gets the slower time seems to go and that is frustrating because I know summer will fly by and I will not accomplish all that is on my summer to-do list.

  2. Stopping by from the Hodgepodge. Your Sunday drives sound wonderful. Sometimes I wish we still entertained ourselves in those simple ways. Have a great day!

  4. I absolutely love books, and it's a real struggle not to spend more than I should on them! : )

  5. Totally agree with you on #1 - if you're willing to do it for me, I can pretty much live with the end product! Especially if you're willing to cook for me!

I like books too - but mostly old ones and for their age, not their content!
