Wednesday Hodgepodge ~ Vol 22

something is going on with the button, but it still will link you to From This Side of the Pond if you want to join us and you click on it

1. Would you rather talk to everyone at a crowded party for a short time or have a significant conversation with two people? Significant conversation with 2 people. Much nicer. Unless I am the one giving the party then I want to chat with everyone and make sure everyone is comfortable and taken care of.

2. What objects do you remember from your parent's living room? We were in there all the time. I remember watching t.v. with my dad on our large t.v. in a wooden box... this thing was a large fixture in the living room. I have a picture somewhere of me standing on it when I was 1 or 2 years old. We had a 60's green couch, an end table with 2 levels, the top had a lamp on it the bottom level usually had magazines/books on it; wooden rocking chair with a pad on the seat, and a recliner... that's it. Oh I forgot the huge picture on the wall of a boy with a bucket. We also had radiator heat so there was a shelf over the radiator which usually had plants on it since it was also right under the window.

3. Do you hog the bed? Steal the covers? Snore? My husband hogs the bed but I steal the covers and snore so that evens things out!! LOL

4. Speaking of Easter dinner....what is your favorite way to cook/eat lamb? Or does just the thought of that make you squeamish? If you're not cooking lamb what will be your entree du jour on Easter Sunday? I have no idea what we are eating for Easter Sunday... you think I have that stuff planned ahead or something??? We don't really do a special Easter dinner. It is just us, no guests. We will not be eating lamb however, though we like it. Hubby says, "I usually cuts lamb up and cook it in a frying pan." So there you go.

5. Let's throw some politics into this week's mix-oooohhh...Do you know the whereabouts of your birth certificate and when was the last time you had to produce it to prove you're you? My birth certificate is in our safety/fire box. I do not know of any time I have had to show someone my birth certificate. My life is boring! LOL

6. As a child, how did people describe you? Depends who you were talking to. My sister would say I was spoiled and grew up in a different family then she did, as my dad mellowed after I was born, and she would say I was his favorite. Some would say I was compliant, cute, easygoing, little (skinny), oh I don't know. How am I supposed to remember what people thought of me more than 40 years ago? I don't even know how people would describe me now! I was a good kid, did not get in trouble, did my schoolwork, got picked on in elementary school, had a few good friends, went to church, and tried to do what is right. I guess I was a "goody two-shoes" http://zaazu.com
7. What do you complain about the most? Hubby says I complain about him the most. http://zaazu.com I don't know. I think it is a tie between complaining about my hubby, complaining about him being unemployed for over a year now, and complaining about my teenage sons.

8. Insert your own random thought here. I collect stuffed bears and have a large collection of beanie babies from years ago. (I have not bought any new ones in years.) I am mostly keeping the beanie bears but have a few others I have kept too. Hubby is putting some more shelves in our bedroom so I can display them. I tried to get rid of some but I have a hard time doing that. I kept way to many I am sure.  Here are just a couple that I keep on my computer desk in my bedroom... I have many, many more.
Only the panda, large platypus, hedgehoge and small colorful bear on the right are beanies. I have loved platypuses ever since I heard "It's Designed To Do What It Should Do" by Buddy Davis. Since I thought of that I have to share the song in case you have never heard it. We love Buddy Davis' Creation songs.

  1. What is it about men hogging the bed? Mine does too. It must be that they are trying to get closer while we suffer hot flashes (the older we get anyway) and are trying to scurry away. LOL the song is really cute. Thanks for stopping by and it's so nice to meet you.

  2. I've never heard Buddy Davis before...he's entertaining. I hope something works out for your hubs...I'm sure that's stressful on all fronts.

  3. Unemployment completely sucks. I, too, complained for almost two years. Your hubby will find a job. I am sure that God is preparing the perfect spot for him!!
