I wanted to do some scrapbooking today, but I did not get to it. I did however cover an binder.
A friend from church gave us a bunch of binders
They were in good shape but not so pretty.
They had company logos on the cover.
I am always in need of new binders so I accepted them.
I was thinking I could cover them with wallpaper samples that my sister gave me.
I needed a new binder for my History Planner today.
The binder I had been using was falling apart.
First I went to the basement and found some wallpaper that reminded me of History.
Then I picked a plain matching piece. With this I covered the back of the binder and wrapped up onto part of the front.
Then I cut the paper that looked like something from History and put that on front.
This is what I ended up with and I am very, very happy with it.
Though this is not scrapbooking it is definitely creative and along with the composition book I covered yesterday makes for a "crafty" weekend after all.
What do you think of my binder now???

Hey Debbie!
ReplyDeleteDid you just get the wallpaper wet and use the glue from the back of it to stick it to the binder?
Great idea. It looks great! I had my twins use fabric paints on theirs the other day. I never thought of wallpaper. I don't have any samples, though. You were fortunate to have those.
I like it!
ReplyDeletePenny,
ReplyDeleteThe samples come in large books and the pieces do not have glue on them.
If they had glue on them and got wet they would all stick together in the sample books.
My sister works for a company that sells wallpaper as well as other things. Companies often change their wallpaper and when they do they send new books to their suppliers and the old ones are useless.
Check out a place that sells wallpaper near you and see if they have sample books they can give you or will save for you in the future.
We use them for all sorts of things because the paper is so durable.
