Simple Woman's Daybook - Jan. 5, 2011

FOR TODAY...
Wednesday January 5, 2011

Outside my window...
mostly sunny and cold

I am thinking...
that my devotions, reading through the Bible in a year with my church, is going really well. Half a week done and I am on track and not behind! I have really been digging into the word... not just reading. I have really been enjoying it too.

From the learning rooms...
Starting back to school tomorrow... will do the major subjects tomorrow and Friday and then hit all 12 workboxes starting Monday.

From the kitchen...
I have no idea... meal planning is one of the things I must get done.
DD Jessica is cooking tonight.
I cook tomorrow night... I have to decide what I am cooking.
I also want to meal plan for the rest of January.

I am wearing...
jeans, light green t-shirt and slippers
(my mom is staying with us, she is 88,
she needs things way warmer than we usually keep the temperatures,
so I have been wearing my short sleeved shirts again.
she goes home tonight and the thermostat will get turned down
and I will put my turtlenecks and sweatshirts back on.)

I am creating...
scrapbook pages (Yippee!!)
school plans

I am going...
to Ladies Bible Study on Friday

I am remembering...
the good time we had with my mom visiting this holiday season. She has been here since Dec. 18th. Yesterday we had a girls day out and spent the afternoon eating out and shopping. Then we watched I Robot as a family. Good Times!

I am reading...
I finished Cat and Dog Theology today!
Book 1/100 done
Now continuing to read...
Written on the Wind by Judith Pell
Instructing a Child's Heart by Tedd and Margy Tripp
Age of Opportunity by Paul Tripp
Prodigal God by Timothy J. Keller
Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling by Debra Bell

Gotta try and finish one more book this week to keep up with the 100 books in a year goal.

I am hoping...
...to finish reading another book this week
...that I can make school fun and interesting to the boys so they don't find it such a chore

I am hearing...
Extreme Makeover - Home Edition... I am listening to/watching on my computer

On my mind...
need to plan school for tomorrow
as soon as I finish this
then plan dinner for tomorrow so that tomorrow when I am teaching school I know what I am having for dinner so one less headache for tomorrow.

Noticing that...
days are getting a little longer...
spring is on the way...
I know we have a long way to go til spring...
but I can hope it comes early can't I??

Pondering these words...
"These are the generations of Shem: Shem was a hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:"
So Shem was 98 years old when the flood was on the earth. Why did I always think he was so young... It took Noah was 500 years old when he had Shem.. then he was over 601 when the flood ended... I just never really put the numbers together.

Around the house...
we will be taking down the Christmas decorations on Saturday.. then the house will get back to "normal", does our family have a normal??? Not really. LOL

One of my favorite things...
Reading...
and I will be doing a lot of it this year in order to read 100 books.
Thankfully I can count books I read aloud to the boys.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
cooking,
eating LOL,
exercising,
scrapbooking,
school,
Christmas decorations down and tubs back into the attic

From my camera...
Know what this is from???

My lovely hubby brought me one of these....

Ahhhh...
Sweet Nectar!!!!

Love McDonald's Sweet Tea!!!
My favorite drink!

Makes any day Better!!
