Today I am thankful for my hubby. I am thankful for him every day. I am thankful that he loves me and chose me to be his wife. God brought us together 26 years ago. Most people thought our marriage would not last. But, when we promised before God "for richer, for poorer, in sickness, and in health, to love and to cherish, til death do we part" we both meant to keep that vow. There has been more poorer than richer as far a money goes but in other ways we feel richer than other families. There has been sickness, like now with me being sick in bed, there have been times in the hospital for me, there have been back injuries, Lyme disease, diabetes... and more. There have been times of health too. You may want to read this post about our dating days.
He is my best friend, confidant, spiritual leader, and much more. He sings all the time, sometimes changing the words to the songs to fit something that is happening at the time. He makes us laugh with his comments and jokes.
"In a time when nothing is more certain than change, the commitment of two people to one another has become difficult and rare. Yet, by its scarcity, the beauty and value of this exchange have only been enhanced." ~Robert Sexton
"In every marriage more than a week old, there are grounds for divorce. The trick is to find, and continue to find, grounds for marriage." ~Robert Anderson, Solitaire & Double Solitaire
"One advantage of marriage is that, when you fall out of love with him or he falls out of love with you, it keeps you together until you fall in again." ~Judith Viorst

I am thankful for my hubby. He is father of my children. He takes time with them, talks with them when they are struggling, takes them with him on errands, and teaches them things they will need to know to be good husbands and wives (spiritual things as well as construction, plumbing, car repair and more).
He is a photographer, artist, a good writer, fixes/repairs/constructs mechanical , construction, plumbing, electronic, computer and more.
I love you dearly hubby, with all my .

What a sweet post! I love hearing that there are others out there with husbands that change song lyrics. Mine tends to make them up as he goes depending on the situation! We, too, wonder if we jinxed ourselves with the "richer OR poorer" comment, but we're so blessed in ways that money could never buy!
ReplyDeleteLovely post! You guys were a cute couple...bet you still are!
ReplyDeletePeople didn't think we would last either. We're going on 37 years now!
It is wonderful when God blesses a marriage.
I am now following you.
We were also told our marriage wouldn't last beyond 2 years at the MOST!!! In Jan, we'll celebrate our 32nd anniversary. God knew what He was doing to put us together just as He did with you 2. May God continue to bless you and your marriage.
ReplyDeleteLove you sweetie, wouldn't change a thing, (Oh, I take that back. Wish I could get my family everything they wanted.) Love,,,,,hubby
