This is very late. I still wanted to get it in because I want it for my own records. This is not from this past week but two weeks ago, as you can see from the dates.
History: played the Medieval Noggin Game, studied about Canute the Great, Macbeth, El Cid, Edward the Confessor, and Omar Khayyam.
Omar Khayyam was mentioned by the mayor's wife Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn in the musical "The Music Man" (the older version) by Merideth Wilson. Eulalie vocally objects to the lurid nature of Omar Khayyam's poetry to the town librarian, Marian Paroo. She shows her displeasure by saying, "...this Rubaiyat of Omar Khayya-ya-ya-ya-I am a appalled!" Do you remember that line? We did not study his "lurid poetry" but we did study his mathematical discoveries in the book Mathematicians are People, too by Luetta and Wilbert Reimer.
Historical Fiction: read chapters 1-11 of The Crusades by Anthony West
Science: we continued studying the Digestive System.
We continued:
reading Wisdom and the Millers and using it for copywork,
exercising,
Boticelli and Art Appreciation study
they did Daily Grams or Easy Grammar a couple of days while we waited for the ink to come in.
Well that was our school week, nothing out of the ordinary.
I wil post this past weeks school stuff later today.
