39. I love ballet, and opera, classical music concerts and art museums but never get to go. My love for them started in college. We were all required to take a Fine Arts course and since we were so close to N.Y. city, only 20-30 min. depending on traffic, we were afforded the opportunity to see all kinds of performances. We had to choose 10 different kinds of genre to explore. I got to see the Opera Carmen in NYC. I also saw a ballet, but I don't remember which one. Also my friend Becky from High School and her parents used to go to free concerts and in Philadelphia at the The Mann Center for the Performing Arts. It is the only outdoor cultural arts venue in the Philadelphia region and one of the largest of its kind in the nation. We sat way, way, way back from the stage, sitting on a hill outside, and you needed binoculars to see the stage at all but the sound was GREAT.

Nor could we use those church buildings sooooo... we got married by my High School Science Teacher who also had a Bible degree and was qualified by the state to preform marriages. Since we could not use the churches we decided to get married outside in the yard next to my sisters house. The majority of the yard actually belonged to an Odd Fellows Lodge that was using an old church as it's meeting place, and we got permission to use part of their lawn which is attached to my sisters lawn. I will post pictures and more details about that closer to our 25 anniversary on July 14 of this year. I was 23 yrs. old when we got married.

I really enjoyed that! I learned lots too...I'd be interested to know how you define courtship. When Derek and I dated (almost 3 years total...long distance for 2 of the 3) the purpose was always marriage.
ReplyDeleteWhat's notebooking and copywork?
