Think Back Thursday ~ Graduation

Sorry this is late getting posted.
I had a hard time getting the photos from my daughter Jessica.
She took all these photos for me. I was busy being hostess of the party.
Thanks Jessica.

As I said the theme is
Graduation
I will be sharing a very recent graduation this time... not old photos...
since my 3rd oldest, my son Nathan, graduated on June 23rd from our homeschool.
You can do your graduation or the graduation of any relative or friend.
Or, if you don't have any graduation photos you could do another ceremony where someone get's recognized for something, like Scouts, or Karate, or 4H or Awana... anything like that.

It was a happy and sad day for me.
In some ways it still seems unreal to me that Nathan graduated.

I have 3 children that have graduated from our homeschool and only one more child to teach, only 3 more years to go.

I have to many photos to share and I didn't want the post to be eons long so I decided to do a slideshow of the photos. I hope you enjoy these, the party was great.

I wanted to upload the slideshow of Nathan's life that I showed at the party but we are low on our bandwidth and it will have to wait until next month... only a few more days. I will post that in a separate post, not on Think Back Thursday but I hope you will watch for it and come see the slideshow of the digital scrapbook I made of Nathan's life.

As I said yesterday
July 5th
the theme will be
Clouds

I have quite a few cloud pictures,
will I share one or a few,
I can't decide.

If you don't have any photos of just clouds, or with clouds in the background, in your photo archive,
 then take one...
you have just over a week to get a great photo for this theme.

Here are the Rules for participating:
The purpose of Think Back Thursday is to link up a photo post about something from the past. You can reach back all the way to your childhood and bravely post pictures of you in your wild clothes and hair styles or post something from last year and tell us about it. I'm not picky. Hey, even yesterday was the past... LOL My posts will mostly be about events that happened prior to blogging, as a way to share those things with the world.
  • It can be about you, about your kids, about your parents, whomever. You can include video, I will not exclude video alone posts, but I prefer them along with photos, as this is a photo meme. I am doing a weekly theme now. That should help narrow it down from the myriad of photos we all have. For ideas check out the other posts in my label Think Back Thursday.
  • Link up below. Please use a permalink that sends readers directly to the correct post. If you are not sure what that is click the word permalink for an explanation.
  • Mention my blog and offer a link back. This is a requirement to take part and a kind gesture to me your hostess as well as your readers--they will know where to join in the fun, too. You can put the Think Back Thursday button on your site and in your post. You will find it on my right sidebar. Please use it to link to my site, to spread the word about my meme. Using the button will help others know how to find me and how to join. Tell others to click on the button in your post to find us here.
  • Leave me a comment. First so that you can let me know what you think of my pictures and secondly so that I will know a new post has been linked up and I can come visit your blog and comment on your photos.

Join us by clicking on the button above...
after you read my goals.

Goal Planning Monday has a new home - the banner above will take you to the new home for Goal Planning Monday @ Real Life Unscripted even though it says it is @ mamamanuscripts. I changed the link to send you to the new place.

This was a pretty good week goal wise, a very rough one emotionally. Things with our finances are coming to a crisis and there is no solution to be seen. My son finished all his school work and the graduation party was a success.

My Goals from last week and how I did:

  2. Listen to Godly Music Daily. Partly Done
  3. Pray daily. Done
  4. Pray the prayers of the Power of a Praying wife each day in the month of June... 30 days... 30 chapters to the book.  Partly Done
  5. Read some of My Utmost for His Highest before bed at night. Done
Homeschool Goals
  1. Work on Nathan's photo slideshow for his graduation open house. Done

  2. Listen to Godly Music Daily.
  3. Pray daily.
  4. Pray the prayers of the Power of a Praying wife each day in the month of June... 30 days... 30 chapters to the book. I am behind from last week so I need to do 2 a day until I catch up.
  5. Read some of My Utmost for His Highest before bed at night.
Homeschool Goals
  1. Buy stuff I want/need for school next year. I especially need to show and talk to Christopher about English.
  2. Work on planning science and history for next year.
Blog Goals

  2. Post reminders to my friends/blog readers about Think Back Thursday on Wed. on Facebook groups especially. Remind them of this week's theme.
  3. Post Think Back Thursday
  4. Comment on each person's post that links up for Think Back Thursday.
  5. Participate in some other meme's that I like.
Personal/Other Goals
  1. Read
  2. Work on the project I am writing on in order to sell it and make money for our family. It is not a quick fix for our great financial need right now, but it is all I can think of to do to help.
  3. Try to exercise at least 1 or 2 times. My lower back has been hurting me as well as my knees. I need to exercise. I need to loose weight but that is hard with our financial situation. Exercise, however is something I can and should still do.
Do you have any goals for the week? Post your goals and link up. The button at the top will take you to the meme and you can join up with us. I have been doing this for more than a year now and setting weekly goals is really helping me keep focus and achieve more. Have a great week.

Think Back Thursday ~ Father's

OK, in case you saw my post, which I deleted, I decided to cut back on my time online but not quit blogging. I was going to quit blogging and quit all online stuff. The stress really got to me yesterday and was at fever pitch last night. I will especially be avoiding wasting time on Facebook.

I will be working on a project that I hope to sell and earn money for my family.
I hope you will pray for me as I manage my time and work on this project as fast as possible because we need money NOW.

Anyway here are my photos

My Daddy

My Dad 1941 in Virginia before going overseas in WWII.

Family Photo 1961. I am the baby.

One of my favorite photos of my Dad and I. We were at Longwood Gardens

Another favorite... Daddy love. I miss you so much, Daddy.
At Valley Forge.
My Daddy in his later years. Not sure what year. But before May 1976 because that is when he died. This is how I remember him looking.
My Hubby, Father of my children

First Time Dad

This was the first photo I found with Court and Christopher in it.
That is a shame.
I should have taken more photos of my kids with their dad.

Digital Scrapbooking - Nathan's Graduation Slideshow

I have been spending many fun hours working on making a digital scrapbook for my son Nathan's graduation next Saturday, June 23rd. I decided to share a few of my favorite pages with you. I was able to choose just a few... which is surprising... considering the amount of time I have spent on this and how much I love these photos. The pages are not a detailed as a normal scrapbook because they will be looked at as a slideshow and they will only have about 3 seconds to look at each page. I hope you enjoy these.

Now...
to get back to work on the scrapbook.
I need to get it done because next week I have cleaning, food and decorating to take care of.

Think Back Thursday ~ Outdoor Games

There were a number of outdoor games photos I could have used this week.
I chose
Vacation Bible School
at our church
from July 1998

I will be focusing on the games the kids are playing,
not on pointing out my children.
One of my children is in some of the photos but not every photo has one of my kids in it.

Most of the games we played/play at VBS center around water,
because we have VBS in July and it is sooo hot.

Enjoy.

Traditional Water Balloon Toss

Hold On and Run Race
Don't Break the Chain or you have to start over.

Pass a large sponge full of water over your head and squeeze it into a bucket at the back of the line...
if there is any water left in it
http://zaazu.com
Keeping hands linked move the rubber tube over your body and on to the next person down the line

Dip a sponge in the water,
put it on your head,

run down to the end of the field,
and squeeze the water that is left into a bucket.
First team to fill the bucket wins.

Run with an air filled balloon smushed between two people
don't let it fall
if you go to fast and don't push toward each other enough the air will catch it
and then you have to stop, pick it up, and start again.

Toss a water balloon to the other side of the volleyball net with a blanket

...if it breaks on your side the other team gets a point.

The kids always have lots of fun at VBS

Now you share... got any photos of outdoor games you want to share?

I upgraded Mr. Linky so that I can have more than one linky at a time showing... that means last week's linky will still be available to view and add links to. It only costs $5 a year. I am considering upgrading to the one that allows thumnail linkies. Do you prefer them? Or is the URL/name linky fine with you?

Next Week, June 21st the theme will be
Father's
you can do your father, father-in-law, or your kids father (your husband), you could even do grandfather, or great grandfather if you have photos.

June 28th the theme will be
Graduation
I will be sharing a very recent graduation this time... not old photos...
since my 3rd oldest, my son Nathan, will be graduating on June 23rd from our homeschool.
You can do your graduation or the graduation of any relative or friend.
