2nd Annual Not Back-to-School Blog Hop
It’s coming!!! 4 weeks of homeschooling links to get you geared up and ready for your year. The Not Back to School Bash! This year Darcy has moved it from her blog to The Heart of the Matter. If you Homeschool, come to the Party! I participated last year and it was a lot of fun. I am already working on my posts for this year. I try and have my post ready for Mondays when the linky goes live. Then I can spend some time each day looking at everyones posts from that week.
Here’s this year’s schedule:
* Monday, Aug 2 – Friday, Aug 6: Curriculum Week ~ You’ve worked so hard to pick the best for your students! Share what you’ve decided to use.
* Monday, Aug 9 – Friday, Aug 13: School Room Week ~ share where you do school. Kitchen table? Dedicated school room? Show us!
* Monday, Aug 16 – Friday, Aug 20: Student Photo Week ~it wouldn’t be a new year without a class picture!
* Monday, Aug 23 – Friday, Aug 27: Day-in-the-Life Week ~ how does a typical day go in your homeschool?
See you there!

Books - a great find for a great price and 365-206-210
I bought 45 books at a surplus store about 15 minutes from our home. This is the place the public schools and other government offices send their used stuff they don't want any more. We go and look for books once in a while. We also buy our office chairs there, the ones that roll and adjust up and down. They sell the chairs for $5. The books were...
wait for it...
10
cents
each!!!
So I got 45 books for $4.50... can't beat that price.
Here they are.
All the History books

365-191-205 Our 26th Anniversary Trip
My Hubby took me away for our anniversary two weeks ago. I have been busy getting ready for school to start and I haven't had time to post our pictures. We had a great time on our anniversary. We went to a movie and then to a nice dinner. We enjoyed our selves. Then we went to the hotel. The pictures are not the typical pictures you would see of a lovely spot we got to visit for our anniversary. They are of this...
This is the newly renovated room we stayed in!!!
So... do you call that newly renovated???
I don't.
Not only all that but the mattress killed my back and we cut our trip short. I went home and spent two day recuperating on the couch!!!
I am not sure I can ever stay at a...
Ever Again!
I surely WON"T be staying at this one!!!

Well Sorta Wordless
I wanted to say that my friend Becky, from High School, Oooooh so many years ago, is visiting us for a few days. She is a missionary in Chalco, Mexico.
I also wanted to say this shows off my new white board which is actually a piece of shower board from Lowes. I needed a bigger white board for our Institute for Excellence in Writing curriculum. This is a much, MUCH cheaper way to go. Only $11. Our Lowes store made one cut for us to make it go from a 4x8 sheet to the 4x6 ft. sheet you see above.

Blast From The Past - Family Camp 1991
We are not a family that has ever sent our kids off to summer camp alone.
We have, however, all gone to camp together as a family.
This is Camp Calvary in PA.
The church we went to when the kids were little went to this camp.
The white thing on the hill going down to the pond is a water slide.

Sorry this is late getting posted. We started school today and things are hectic getting started. Hopefully I can get on a schedule and get these posts done ahead of time and scheduled to post on Monday mornings.
